There are two fields in Fashion photography: EDITORIAL and COMMERCIAL.

editorial: what you see in magazine spreads and stories… also has a huge impact on advertising as well (new calvin klein ads…”editorial”) models with unique looks and tall fall into this category (of course thats a generalization)

commercial: more like Lifestyle… Abercrombie, AE, Banking Ads, (essentially the laughy smiley, playful stuff…

I’m not sure what you are asking. There is fashion photography in the studio and there is fashion photography in the field. If you want to go more in detail, then I would say there is just as my type of fashion photography as there are fashion styles, which is down to earth to far out there and all the little gray areas in between.

Fashion is fashion.
I s’pose you could break it down into kids, teens, adult
or “high” fashion, high st. etc

but basically a fashion photographer will have to cover most things.

well, as far as i know, there is fashion
photography and glamour photography.
but if you’re interested, here’s a girl
on deviantart that takes AMAZING pictures
for fashion magazines (i believe?)
