well i am really not good at writing papers, but you could use a thesis like “with the invention of photography, fashion was brought to the masses creating a want for these fashions, thus, creating the fashion industry to grow.” hope that helps a little bit
from there you can go into some history of photography with photographers like nadar, who was like an andy warhol of his time (1860s i believe) you can also go into how the industrial revolution brought a middle class to come about and how photography became something that everyone wanted, and how that created fashions.

I would perhaps take on the issue’s economic factors. Having the means to create a demand (photography and fashion publications being the means) meant there was also the ability to generate greater profits, and the fasion industry responded by pushing the limits, ultimately to create greater revenue. There’s always been a balance between “art” and “commerce” in fashion, so I’d start there. Hope that helps!
